BIKE HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. All TRI UK bikes are hired as stock items with a standard specification as laid out by the bike manufacturer.
  2. The hire fee for each hire bike is £110.00 for the whole season (1st February 2012 - 31st August 2012) + £450.00 deposit.
  3. Hiring a bike for longer than the hire season - should you wish to extend your hire of the bike, it will cost £50 for every extra week or £150 for an extra month after the 31st August. TRI UK must be notified of this before the end of the hire period (31st August 2012) and payment will be taken up front.
  4. Postage for each hire bike is £25.00 (Parcel Force 48 hour delivery) this is nonnegotiable. The bike will need to be signed for. The original delivery charge will be charged again to re-deliver a bike in situations where the item was not delivered due to the fault of the customer, such as address provided by customer is incorrect or the customer was not able to sign for the item or collect it from the sorting office.
  5. Payment is by credit or debit card - The full amount will be taken from your card when the bike leaves the store. (HIRE FEE + DEPOSIT + POSTAGE = £585.00) This is a security measure for TRI UK, just in case the bike is not returned to us. If you wish to keep the bike at the end of the season, you have already paid for it in full. Please inform TRI UK either via email mailorder@triuk.com or call 01935 414142 and your account will be marked to say that you wish to keep the bike! Otherwise please return the hire bike to TRI UK (see details below) and the deposit of the bike, less any charges for damage/cleaning, will be refunded back onto your card, once it has been checked by our Cytech accredited mechanics.
  6. When you receive your bike if you feel it is damaged in anyway then please inform us immediately, otherwise you will be charged for this damage on its return.
  7. All TRI UK hire bikes are new when hired and will be stored in either in a box or on the shop floor prior to leaving the store. Customers will be informed if the bike is not new (late season only) and any damage/marks will be recorded prior to the bike being shipped.
  8. Once your hire bike has been signed for, it is your responsibility and remains your responsibility until the bike has been returned, signed for and inspected by one of our CyTech and EAL accredited mechanics.
  9. You are solely responsible for the safekeeping and upkeep of the hire bike in question. TRI UK has ensured that the bike is checked and working prior to leaving the Store.
  10. Any routine maintenance that the bike requires throughout the hire period is the responsibility of the named customer only.
  11. Any damage to the bike, whether in the form of paint damage, scratches or a crash, must be reported to TRI UK immediately.
  12. TRI UK assumes no responsibility for punctures of inner tubes and tyres. It is the responsibility of the customer to replace these items.
  13. TRI UK will not be liable for any part/equipment replaced by any other bike shop. If it is your opinion that the bike requires any part or service, the bike must be returned to TRI UK at your expense for TRI UK to investigate the situation. Should the bike require work, TRI UK will return the bike to you minus postage charge.
  14. TRI UK will ship the bike, suitably packed in a bike box with a fork stay protector and rear wheel in place. The Bike MUST be returned to TRI UK, at the end of the hire period, packed in the same way it was sent out, with the fork stay protector and rear wheel in place. The bike must be suitably packed and protected in the box. TRI UK advises that you keep the original packaging for this purpose. Please note the special consideration shown to the rear mech, fork, wheels not touching frame, no loose metallic object touching paintwork when the bike is sent to you.
  15. This bike is for your personal use and should not be loaned to anyone. If you decide to loan the bike, the liability for the bike remains between the named customer and TRI UK and any damage to the bike will be charged to the named customer only.
  16. It is your responsibility to send the bike back to TRI UK, at the end of the hire period, and to be liable for the costs that this incurs. TRI UK is not responsible for collection of the bike. TRI UK can arrange to have the bike collected at a cost of £200 per bike (UK mainland only). When returning the bike please ensure you use a suitable insured courier method and retain proof of postage as the bike is YOUR responsibility until it is signed for by TRI UK, 76 Lyde Road, Yeovil, BA21 5DW. TRI UK will NOT contact you when we receive the bike and is not able to give confirmations of bikes being received.
  17. To return the bike, please post back to TRI UK, 76 LYDE ROAD, YEOVIL, SOMERSET, BA21 5DW. Please return by 31st August 2012. Make sure that you keep a copy of your postal receipt and send via an insured delivery service. The bike is STILL your responsibility in transit.
  18. Please ensure your returned bike contains YOUR NAME & BILLING ADDRESS & ACCOUNT NUMBER to ensure the bike can be correctly identified and logged on to your account.
  19. The bike must be returned cleaned and in good condition, bearing in mind reasonable'wear and tear'. The bike must be returned with no punctures. A TRI UK bike mechanic will check the bike on its return; any damage that is not reasonable'wear and tear' will be charged for and will incur a repair fee and labour charge, i.e. you will be charged for the cleaning of the bike if it is returned dirty, and damage will be charged accordingly.
  20. The hire period ends on the 31st August 2012. All bikes must be returned by this time or you will be charged £100 per week from your deposit for every week the bike is late (up to the original cost of the bike).
  21. We do not offer a hire fee refund on bikes which are returned unused.
  22. Cancellation of a Hire Reservation - We can accept a reservation cancellation prior to the dispatch of the hire goods, in which case any prepayment will be refunded in full.
  23. For online/phone orders - Hired but not used - Once hire goods have been dispatched for a period of more than 8 days even if they are not used, the hire charge cannot be refunded. Exceptions - if within 7 days of receiving the hired items the customer gives written notice to TRI UK direct by email or in a letter, that they wish to cancel and return the hire items for a refund then all returned products must be returned unused in the original packaging with packaging still sealed and in a saleable reusable condition, once received back and inspected a full refund will be given as long as the products returned to us are in a fully resalable unused condition, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item, should the item be deemed to have been used. All refunds are limited to the hire fee only.

All orders are sent insured delivery; this means a signature is required at the delivery address to make sure that your parcel is delivered quickly and safely with adequate insurance. This gives every opportunity that a parcel is delivered on time and we have appropriate insurance to cover your item in the unfortunate event that it does go missing.

All items posted within the UK are sent on next day services apart from oversized items which are sent on a 48hr delivery.

We choose the following services for their speed; but mainly for their insurance, track and traceable features.

Items sent to Europe and Worldwide usually take between 3-7 days to arrive, however this is dependant on the destination. Please Call 01935 414142 for an accurate delivery estimation.

Important Return information

It is the customer's responsibility to cover the cost of return to us and make sure that it is well packaged.

We recommend that you use recorded or special delivery as we cannot be liable for any loss or damage in transit.

If returned goods are found non faulty, there will be a return fee of the carriage amount.

Carriage will also be charged on items that are returned as they are the incorrect size and this is down to the error of the customer.

All orders will need to be signed for.
